Mike Mernick is a master carpenter with over twenty-years experience in the trade he loves. Admired for his easy-going manner and common-sense approach to renovation, Mike is an uncompromising old-world craftsman and a pioneer who searches out new construction products and approaches.
Born in Rhode Island, Mike was exposed to the carpentry trade by his carpenters in the family as a young child. Mike continued to refine his skills working by his wife's side remodeling and building custom homes. He attended the University of Rhode Island, where he studied finance, however, the main focus of his work is house renovations and additions, with the occasional new home or commercial project.
Tara's entrepreneurial background coupled with Mike's architectural prowess foster a dynamic partnership. Combining Tara's passion and Mike's intuitive construction approach together they translate their clients needs to become comfortable, yet stylish spaces for living. Their approach is different from most designers; they both have a unique ability to seamlessly blend the old and new, using elements from consignment shops and specialty design centers. Their process creates individual settings for each client whether it is a complete renovation, a one-day makeover using what the client already has or a staging for resale.
